R1 Halogen Lamp: 12V 50W, P42s Base

This R1 halogen lamp has a rated voltage of 12V and a rated power of 50W, adopting a P42s single-contact screw-in base (with industry-standard model numbers such as 903143). It is a dedicated light source for single-beam headlamps of non-road vehicles including tractors, construction machinery, and agricultural vehicles, and can also be used for fixed lighting scenarios of some special-purpose vehicles, complying with specifications like ECE R37 and SAE. Based on the technology of tungsten filament illumination combined with halogen cycle, it can light up instantly, featuring excellent shock resistance and voltage fluctuation resistance to adapt to the complex working conditions of vehicles. The lamp body is made of quartz glass with a UV filter, which is high-temperature resistant and can effectively block ultraviolet rays. With a diameter of approximately 42mm and a length of around 80mm, its structure meets the installation requirements of single-beam lighting fixtures. It delivers a luminous flux of about 700lm and a color temperature of roughly 3100K, with natural color rendering (CRI≥80). Its standard B3 lifespan ranges from 300 to 400 hours, and can extend to 600 to 800 hours under proper operating conditions. Designed as a single-power lamp, it only provides a single lighting mode of either high beam or low beam. During installation, it establishes a stable connection with the fixture via the single contact of the P42s base, making it suitable for fixtures with single-beam lighting needs. After installation, it offers reliable sealing performance, capable of withstanding harsh outdoor environments such as dust and humidity.

R1 Halogen Lamp: 12V 50/40W, P42d Base

This R1 halogen lamp is also a 12V low-voltage light source, equipped with a P42d double-contact dual-filament base (with industry-standard model numbers such as 903144). It features a dual-power design with rated power of 50W/40W, serving as the core light source for dual-beam headlamps of vehicles like cars and tractors. It can realize high-low beam switching, complying with specifications including ECE R37 and SAE/DOT, and meeting the headlamp lighting requirements of road vehicles. It also adopts the technology of tungsten filament illumination combined with halogen cycle. The dual-filament structure corresponds to 50W high beam and 40W low beam respectively. The high beam delivers a luminous flux of about 750lm, while the low beam provides around 500lm, with strong light penetration to meet the lighting needs of different road conditions. The lamp body is made of quartz glass with UV protection, having a diameter of approximately 42mm and a length similar to that of the P42s version, fitting the installation space of dual-beam lighting fixtures. With a color temperature of about 3100K and natural color rendering (CRI≥80), the dual filaments have different B3 lifespans: the 50W high-beam filament lasts about 300 hours, and the 40W low-beam filament has a lifespan of around 400 hours. The overall lifespan can reach 600 to 900 hours under proper usage. The P42d base has a double-contact structure, which can separately control the on-off status of the high and low beam filaments, adapting to the switching function of dual-beam fixtures. It ensures accurate positioning during installation, guaranteeing the stability and reliability of high-low beam switching, and is a commonly used specification for headlamps of most road vehicles.

Key Differences Between the Two

  1. Power and Lighting Mode: The 12V 50W P42s version is a single-power lamp with 50W, supporting only a single lighting mode of either high beam or low beam and unable to realize high-low beam switching. The 12V 50/40W P42d version adopts a dual-power design, with 50W for high beam and 40W for low beam. It can achieve quick switching between high and low beams via the vehicle switch, making it suitable for the conventional headlamp application scenarios of road vehicles.

  2. Base and Compatible Fixtures: The P42s is a single-contact base, compatible with single-beam fixtures, and is mostly applied to the fixed lighting of non-road vehicles. The P42d is a double-contact base, suitable for dual-beam fixtures, and is mainly used for the headlamps of road vehicles to meet the demand for alternating use of high and low beams.

  3. Luminous Flux and Lifespan: The single-power 50W P42s version has a luminous flux of about 700lm with a relatively stable lifespan. The P42d version has a luminous flux of around 750lm for the 50W high beam and about 500lm for the 40W low beam. The dual filaments have different lifespans; due to its lower power, the 40W low-beam filament has a longer lifespan than the 50W high-beam filament.

  4. Application Scenarios: The P42s version is more suitable for the single-beam lighting of non-road vehicles such as tractors and construction machinery, as well as the fixed lighting of special-purpose vehicles. The P42d version is widely used in the dual-beam headlamps of road vehicles such as cars and motorcycles, adapting to the demand for high-low beam switching during daily driving.
